Haha a coincidence indeed. Not sure I want to get rid of my kart yet but if I didn't have the room I would sell it in a hurry.

A resto would be really nice. Good luck with finding one. I'm sure there are a tonne of them in the UK.

Hi George,
          coincidence or what ! ..
I too am currently atempting to sell off some of the garage toy collection ( jet boat , bikes, windsurfer, karts ? etc) in an attempt to make space to build a clubby ....actually i plan to re-build / restore an old Lotus or Caterham if possible !
Initially i have been surprised at the high cost of old ( '60' --'70's vintage 7's around here, . Nothing much under $20k even if rusty and unregistered ?
so i am investigating importing one from the UK where it seems they are much cheaper and more plentiful .
Maybe i will contact the Clubby register to see if there are any leads that way.
Good luck G , and keep us updated with your progress.

Haha well said. Initially I thought I would need more power than a 4AGE could deliver but I don't think that's the case really. I'm not going to aim for trophies and it will mostly be for fun on the road anyway so it suits my needs. The fact that it sounds amazing is a huge bonus.

I've read your site back to front by the way. I even printed your diary and shared it with my father so he can have a read and prepare to help out. Much thanks for sharing all that info.

Hi George

excellent website, very professional. When I started building, I just opted for the most standard build I could. I'm still surprised that I actually built a car, although after being immersed in the clubbie community for a few years, I'm no longer amazed. I never considered myself a petrol-head, but after living with a 4A-GE clubbie, I am hooked.

If I built again, I'd probably still choose the blacktop 4A-GE. I get poetical when I write about it. The noisy rumble of idle, the menacing growl as it builds revs, the hair-raising howl from 4000 rpm to redline. The glorious barking popping sound of overrun. Drive a blackie gently to about 4000 rpm in second gear, then bury the right foot and enjoy the gulping roar as four individual throttles smack open, thrusting you forward to 8000 rpm.

There are more powerful engines. But I'm hooked ;)
